Finish Flag Farms offers affordable retirement options for your aging equine companion. We can help you choose from one of several full care options or customise a plan to meet specific needs for your horse.

Our guests include everything from Grand Prix dressage and four star event horses to aged school horses enjoying their well earned retirement. Many clients elect to have their horses in light work to keep them mentally and physically active.Every horse is allowed to interact socially with his peers, and many horses form friendship bonds among themselves which last throughout their remaining years.

All our guests are treated with respect and care by knowledgeable professionals who carefully manage and monitor their condition throughout their declining years.

Rates and Requirements

All rates include the following:

  • Fresh grass and hay 24/7
  • Fresh water and shelter available 24/7
  • Fly spray and fly masks as needed
  • Blanketing in severe weather
  • Equine senior or similar grain supplement fed daily
  • Feet trimmed as needed
  • Paste wormer 4 times yearly
  • Vaccinations twice yearly
  • Daily visual inspection
  • Seasonal digital photos posted on this website

Basic Pasture – $275.00/month

Free feed hay; grain fed daily; shelter and water 24/7.

Modified Basic Pasture – $315.00/month

Recommended for horses with a history of colic or laminitis. Minimal grass; plenty of fresh hay fed daily.

Deluxe Pasture – $350.00/month

Also includes weekly grooming, monthly bath, blanketing November to March. Feeding of additional supplements or medication provided by owner. Pasture with run in shed limited to 6 horses.

Pampered Pasture – $425.00/month

Includes blanketing, grooming and light exercise, clipping, additional joint and hoof supplements, box stall with daily turn out on grass pasture. Limited number of openings.

Additional Services per month:

  • Blanketing – $40.00
  • Feeding of supplements paid for by owner – $30.00
  • Administering medication paid for by owner – $30.00
  • Twice weekly grooming – $40.00

Requirements:

All horses must have current vaccinations for encephalitis, tetanus, flu, rhinopneumonitis, west nile, and a current negative coggins test. Shoes must be removed unless medically required. Signed agreement is required along with first and last months fees.

Boarding agreement is as follows:

This Boarding Agreement dated ______________ is made between Finish Flag Farms (herein after referred to as “boarding facility”) and ________(herein after referred to as “horse owner”).

  1. The boarding facility will provide pasture, shelter, water and feed for the boarded animal with such reasonable care and cleanliness as may be required to maintain the health and well being of the animal(s).
  2. The boarding facility will provide at no additional charge the following:
    • Fly spray and fly masks as needed
    • Blanketing in severe weather
    • Equine senior or similar grain supplement fed daily
    • Beet pulp fed daily in winter months
    • Feet trimmed as needed
    • Paste wormer every 60 days
    • Vaccinations twice yearly
    • Daily visual inspection
  3. In consideration of the above, OWNER agrees to pay the posted monthly charges in advance, on or before the first day of each month. The first month’s board, or any prorated amount thereof, plus one month’s rent as security is payable in advance. Security is applied to last month’s rent when 30 days written notice to vacate is received. If payment is not received by the 10th day of any month, a late fee of $25.00 will be assessed. In accordance with Tennessee state law 66-20-101 Pasturage lien the boarding facility shall have a general lien upon the boarded animal to secure performance of owner’s obligations hereunder. Owner further acknowledges that after all due and reasonable attempts have been made to reconcile payment, until but not limited to 60 days past due, boarding facility will have complete discretion is disposing of boarded animal.
  4. Horse owner assumes all risk of loss by sickness or injury to the boarded animal, agrees to hold boarding facility harmless therefrom and understands that he is responsible for all veterinary and farrier services not set out in article 2 above.
  5. The boarding facility agrees to take all reasonable precaution to protect the boarded animal(s) from illness, accident, fire, loss, theft, and injury. However it is the OWNERS responsibility to insure his horse against from illness, accident, fire, loss, theft, and injury and horse OWNER hereby agrees to hold Finish Flag Farms harmless from responsibility of any sort for any act or omission of the boarding facility causing such illness, accident, fire, loss, theft, and injury, except those acts or omissions which are willful or grossly negligent.
  6. Horse owner agrees to indemnify and hold harmless the boarding facility from any loss, claim, damage, liability, or expense caused by the acts or omissions of his or her self, his or her horse(s), or his or her guest(s).
  7. In the event the boarded horse becomes ill or injured, Horse OWNER authorizes Finish Flag Farms to administer whatever emergency medical or veterinary treatment deemed advisable by management. Any expenses incurred in this connection will be reimbursed promptly by horse owner .Horse owner further agrees to give Finish Flag Farms permission to allow for the euthanization their horse in extreme situations if attempts to contact horse owner are unsuccessful.
  8. This contract is renewable automatically from month to month unless written notice of termination is given by either party to the other party at least 30 days prior to the end of any month.
  9. The prevailing party shall be entitled to recover all expenses which may be incurred, including reasonable attorney’s fees, by reason of any breach of this agreement.
  10. Horse owner agrees to show proof of current vaccinations for encephalitis, tetanus, flu, rhinopneumonitis, west nile, and a current negative coggins test. Shoes must be removed unless medically required.
  11. Finish Flag Farms agrees to provide one month boarding credit for horses transported to the boarding facility from a distance of not less than 1,000 miles, after horse(s) has been boarded for 12 consecutive months, only if the Horse OWNER is current on all incurred fees including but limited to additional veterinary and farrier charges, extra service charges, all boarding fees and late charges. Board will not be charged for the 13th month; however, fees will be due as usual beginning the 14th consecutive month.
  12. Horse OWNER acknowledges that the foregoing agreement is intended to be as broad and inclusive as is permitted by the laws of the state of Tennessee and if any portion thereof is held invalid, it is agreed that the balance shall, notwithstanding, continue in full legal force and effect.
  13. Horse OWNER further acknowledges that no oral representations, statements, or inducements apart from the forgoing written agreement have been made.
